I suppose I really ought to introduce myself here so here goes.
My name is Jim and I live in Mansfield, Notts. I'm 42 and divorced with 2 children (James and Mary), both of whom are enormous Primeval fans as well. My main interests are reading, writing fiction (not tried any Primeval fan fics yet but the time may come), painting, music (I play bass and mainly like Prog Rock), curry and real ale.

I have to be honest here, my first experience with Primeval was the preview for the first series that was included in the DVD Box Set for the second series of Robin Hood and I really was not that impressed. Due to my lack of interest, I kept pushing off the recommendations that I should at least watch the show before I judged it from other Robin Hood fans. Eventually, boredom and the fact that my local library was able to borrow a copy of the first series of Primeval from another library I was able to silence my critics and watch the show. I will be the first to admit that I should have never judged a show by its preview! After watching the first three or four episodes, I found myself strangely addicted to the show and found myself reaching for the first series DVD Box set whenever I was in the mood to watch something. Perhaps I am not the only American member who is slowly but surely favoring British television over its American counterpart. I must have watched each episode of Robin Hood (in both series so far) an average of twenty times before it became old and I am finding the same to be true with Primeval (although I am waiting on my own copy of the first series to be delivered as I write this). When I first started watching British television I found myself quite annoyed with the 12 or 13 episode series because I have been raised with the 22 or 23-episode series with American television, however now I favor the British version far more. There is simply no buffer episodes thrown in each series to make the quota and the audience is not left pondering answers to questions for a year or more. I was actually shocked that the question of what happened to Helen was answered so quickly in the first series I was expecting that to be the mystery surrounding the entire season. Well I just wanted to give a little background on how I came to find Primeval and even though I will have to wait until the Second DVD Box set comes out in the States for the thrid series to actually watch the thrid series I look forward to discussing the show and its characters with you.

Welcome to the forum, Baileigh! Glad you liked the show! (Although, I obviously can't take credit for it!) Well, the first year of Primeval was just six episodes (the first six episodes in the 13-episode American Volume 1), so there was definitely no room for buffers! And if Helen was to be an important character that year, they had to properly introduce her early on.

Hey all , name's Brad from Virginia, and I'm a big fan of Primeval, unsurprisingly, as I'm an even bigger fan of dinosaurs, stumbled upon the forum while checking out the primeval site.

Hello there. My name's Diana, I'm 21 years old and from Germany. I've lived in England and Ireland for one year and seven months, and I'm now visiting an institute for foreign languages (English, Spanish and about to teach myself Slovak 'cause my girlfriend lives in Bratislava). I like anything and everything related to apocalypse theroies (e. g. the book "The Road" or the X-Box game "Fallout 3"), dinosaurs and zombies. I've only got into Primeval a week ago, basically, and caught up with both seasons in time to be ready for the next round. Nice meeting y'all.

It's on Dave at 9.00pm. It's a strange channel for it to be on really as they normally show the repeats from BBC
