Do you think they'll ever have a woman doctor?

Doctor Who can't change which body he gets when he cheats death so maybe one day it'll be a woman? They've already had a ginger Doctor like and i've heard they've had a black one.

the Dr is a Time Lord- ergo he is male
if he was a woman he would be a Time Lady, and I doubt they just change gender

I don't think they will. And not having a black doctor seems to contradict Davie's "Ethical Casting" stuff. Take that Russel!

We may see a black or asian Doctor at some point, but I'd say the Doctor will always remain a male character. And anyway, hair, skin and eye colour is all just a few pigments. Actually going from being biologically male to female seems like it would be a much complicated process.

I think if they had wanted a Time Lady, they shouldn't of killed off Romana. In the old series Romana was shown 'trying on' a number of different bodies though, so I guess they can choose when they have access to the right technology or in the right circumstances. The Doctors regenerations have never been his choice though.

The Doctor will always be a man..a woman Doctor just seems wrong! And anywho being female seems mostly reserved for the companion...apart from Captain Jack (but he is awesome) lol.

I hope that the Doctor will always be a male. However I would accept a Doctor from a parallel universe who was female.

Yeah I think that would be a good idea.
I think a woman Doctor if done well could work though, even as the main Doctor.
